Blister pack recycling at Amcal
The blister pack recycling at the Amcal Pharmacy is going well.
The collection box is at the far counter at Amcal on the floor to the immediate left of the counter.
The blister packs are boxed up and sent for recycling. They are then chipped into small pieces and the foil component separated from the plastic by water - the foil floats - then the separate components are recycled.
A reminder for users of this free service to make sure no medication is left in the blister packs.
Don't forget that the Whistlestop Community Gardens in Davadi St, Stanthorpe, also has mini wheelie bins to collect coffee pods, toothpaste tubes and dental products and shampoo bottles. The Whistlestop Gardens open Thursday to Saturdays 8-12noon. Thanks to Elaine Nielsen for setting up this initiative.
