GBSAN Bushcare Group

Our enthusiastic Bushcare group teamed up with Shannon, Paul and Jess from the Quoll Society Australia to assist with preparation and planting of over 2000 trees on Granite Belt properties. Properties are selected by the QuollSA team that have strategic significance to connect healthy bushland to assist the survival of many of our threatened species including the spotted tailed quoll, koalas and greater gliders. This aligns well with our Granite Belt Landscape Linkages project.

Tree species planted are endemic to our area and were grown by Mole River Nursery. Tree guards were placed on all trees to help with successful growing. It was a mammoth effort!

Our next job will be on 14 November 2024. We will be working together with the Stanthorpe Rare Wildflower Consortium to weed around some critically endangered native plants.
