2022 Stanthorpe Eco Expo
Despite a cold and wet day on September 3rd, the Stanthorpe Eco Expo was well attended by Granite Belt locals and visitors alike. The day continues to grow and attract a diverse set of people interested in developing skills in many aspects of sustainability, sharing information and knowledge, and hearing inspirational stories from guest speakers.
GBSAN had two stalls, one to promote the network and another to offer a Recycling Challenge to participants. Rick Humphries and Brian Gibbons spent the day talking to visitors and encouraging new membership for our community network.
On the other stall, Barbara Benham, Philippa Hambleton and Sancha MacPherson tested attendees’ knowledge of recycling with a challenge – 3 minutes to sort a box of “rubbish” into the correct categories. The challenge started many valuable conversations and provoked a fair bit of interest among those who gave it a go.
